Bernardine Evaristo has fused poetry with fiction in two novels-in-verse: Lara, The Emperor’s Babe and Soul Tourists. She co-edited the Granta anthology NW15, (New Writing 15) with Maggie Gee in 2007. She has won several awards and is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature and of the Royal Society of Arts .
