John Buchanan-Brown is a long-established translator of French books ranging from belles-lettres to children's literature. He was General Editor of the three-volume Cassell's Encyclopedia of World Literature. He is currently preparing a new edition of John Aubrey's Brief Lives for Penguin Classics.
